Conference Venue

Hotel Taikanso locates on the hilltop with a panoramic view of Matushima bay, one of the three most scenic spots in Japan. You can enjoy various seafood dishes in Japanese, European and Chinese style.

Access

From Narita airport

Route 1

  1. Move to Tokyo station by train. Narita Express, limited train of Japan Railway East (JR-E), is favorable. It takes about 1 hour. Normal fee is 2,940 yen (ticket: 1,280 yen, surplus charge for limited express: 1,660 yen).
  2. Move to Sendai station from Tokyo station by train. Tohoku Shinkansen, bullet train of JR, is favorable. It takes 1 hour 36 minutes by the fastest train, Hayabusa. The fee is 10,890 yen (ticket: 5,780 yen, surplus charge for limited express: 5,110 yen). Hayate, the second fastest train, is also useful. It takes 1 hour 41 minutes. The fee is 10,590 yen (ticket: 5,780 yen, surplus charge for limited express: 4,810 yen).
  3. Move to Matsuhima-kaigan station by train. Use Senseki line of JR-E. It takes 27 minutes by rapid train. It also takes 39 minutes by local train. The ticket fee is 400 yen.
  4. Move to Hotel Taikanso by shuttle bus or taxi.
  5. You can purchase a through ticket to Matsushima-kaigan station at Airport station.

Route 2

  1. Move to Sendai airport by domestic line (All Nippon Airways: ANA). Since the number of service is limited, please consult with an airline company or a travel agency.
  2. Move to Sendai station by train. Use Sendai Airport Transit. It takes about 25 minutes. The ticket fees is 630 yen.
  3. Move to Matsuhima-kaigan station by train. Use Senseki line of JR-E. It takes 27 minutes by rapid train. It also takes 39 minutes by slow train. The ticket fee is 400 yen. You can also buy a through ticket (1020 yen).
  4. Move to Hotel Taikanso by shuttle bus or taxi.

From Haneda airport

  1. Move to Hamamatsu-cho station by train. Use Tokyo Monorail. It takes about 18 to 25 minutes. Ticket fee is 470 yen.
  2. Move to Tokyo statin by train. Yamanote line of JR is favorable. It takes about 16 minutes. Ticket fee is 150 yen.
  3. Move to Sendai station by train. Tohoku Shinkansen, bullet train of JR, is favorable. It takes 1 hour 36 minutes by the fastest train, Hayabusa. Accommodation

A foreign participant is strongly recommended to stay in Hotel Taikanso of the venue because there are few hotels recommended for foreigners in Matsushima. A resident in Japan is also recommended to stay there. However, the number of single and twin (double) rooms available is limited. Early reservation is recommended.

    1 person occupancy, ¥8,400
    Note: Including breakfast and tax.
  2. Twin or double room (western style)
    For 1 person occupancy: ¥13,650/person
    For 2 persons occupancy: ¥8,400/person
    Note: Mount view or ocean view available. Including breakfast and tax.
  3. Large room (Japanese and western combination style)
    3 to 5 persons occupancy, ¥8,400/person
    Note: Mount view available. Including breakfast and tax. This room is recommended to Japanese participants due to limited rooms for single or twin/double occupancy.

Reservation and payment method

Before making a hotel reservation, all participants MUST finish Registration. Please then download the following reservation form (Excel file) and fill out the form.

Hotel reservation form

The completed excel file should be sent to the Conference Secretariat via e-mail (ams4@material.tohoku.ac.jp). Payment should be made at the front desk of Hotel Taikanso with cash or by a credit card (VISA, M/C etc.) in Japanese Yen. Foreign currency is not accepted.

Cancellation policy

Cancellation will be accepted until September 10. After that, we will charge the ENTIRE FEES for accommodation of you.
